So Pretty lp |
|
There's something quite addictive about Kid Dakota, the duo from Minneapolis. This is the first time ever hearing the music or about the band for that matter. I give it a listen based on the recommendation of yet another scribe. Five of the tracks here were originally self-released before the band encountered fans in the group Low. Low bassist (no pun intended) Zak Sally lends a hand on three new songs that were penned, added to the bunch and re-released on Low's own imprint. What remains on this new version of So Pretty is a clear cut example of dynamic prowess, clever songwriting and beautiful vocal harmonies. Guitarist Darren Jackson has a voice that you might find singing alongside angels. --Eddie Ugarte |
